I was born and raised in the Grand Rapids area where I've enjoyed many years of solid friendships and business associations. I began working in the brokerage industry while attending Hope College. At Hope, I focused on finance and received a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Upon graduation (1993), I went to work at First Michigan Bank (FMB) in Grand Rapids. In January 1998, I moved to Centennial Securities and became licensed as a Financial Consultant. Before moving on to Hope College, I attended Wyoming Rogers High School. My hobbies include basketball, golf, and officiating football. I played basketball at the collegiate level and currently officiate both high school and college football. My wife Angie and I have recently purchased our first home together in Wyoming. We are enjoying the challenges of new home ownership along with our two-year old yellow lab, Zack. My wife Angie and I live in Wyoming with our 2-year old son, Alexander, and are exited about our second child due in early May.

I specialize in developing investment programs that help individuals and businesses achieve their financial goals. As a financial consultant, I handle almost all types of investments. Depending on an individual's personal situation, I provide advice on retirement strategies such as IRA's, Roth IRA's, and 401(k)'s, SEP/IRA's, etc. For situations outside of retirement, I provide direction on several specialized programs. An example is in the area of college savings. I help young parents develop portfolios using tax-advantaged vehicles like the Education IRA, UGMA/UTMA custodial accounts and the new 529 Plan.

My #1 focus is helping investors achieve their financial goals. My first step is sitting down with my clients and identifying their short and long-term objectives. I then develop a complete financial plan using investments, which are appropriate for each individual involved. I place special emphasis on educating my customers and making sure they are comfortable with the strategies presented. I like each individual to know exactly what they own and why they own it.
