Having joined Centennial in 2016, Walter Musumeci tailors his strategies for each individual client focusing on lower fees, managed risk and diversification needs. His client portfolios include individual stocks/bonds as well as low-cost/high-performing ETFs and mutual funds. Additionally, Walter works with clients on designing investment goals, rollovers and 401k representation. His service to clients is set apart by his diverse yet financially valuable background, his commitment to putting his clients’ best interests first and his thoughtfully designed solutions.

Being in the financial services industry since 2004, Walter started his career as an analyst for a $500M trust in Chicago where he researched socially responsible investments appropriate for the trust. He then went on to work as an equity options trader and manager for six years, where he developed and implemented hedging strategies to manage risk during a turbulent market. After pursuing an MBA degree, Walter became a business development consultant, providing guidance to small business clients on strategic planning and data analysis. He then joined a regional bank as a portfolio manager, quickly becoming a director overseeing $250M in assets.

Walter earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance (2004) as well as his Master’s in Business Administration for International Business degree (2012) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is Series 7 and Series 63 certified.

He lives in Champaign, Illinois with his wife, Nicole, who runs a nonprofit urban farm and workforce development program, and their dog, Phiri. Walter enjoys eating local produce, contributing to his community, staying fit and travel. He is an EU/US citizen.
